You can’t not talk about shopping, right?! Even with the dollar soaring, even on a more ‘different’ list than doing in Florida.
The fact is that the state is a shopping paradise for us Brazilians. And even those who do not like this consumerist side of travel – like me – end up surrendering. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t more pleasant malls that also offer art, culture and excellent dining options.
In Miami, the capital of shopping, I really like the Brickell City Centre. A shopping center with beautiful architecture and great restaurants.
The Aventura Mall is also a good choice for those who get bored easily with the shopping routine. The mall has a beautiful collection of contemporary art and a giant slide, almost 30 meters high, to entertain the little ones. Radical, huh?!
In Palm Beach, you can go shopping in style at The Royal Poinciana Plaza. A beautiful open-air mall, designed in the 50’s by the famous architect John Volk, which has been recently restored.
To top it off, the Ron Jon Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach (the closest beach town to Orlando) is the largest surf shop in the world and is open 24 hours, 365 days a year.
