BG Oleta River Outdoor Center
BG Oleta River Outdoor Center is the official concession operator for Oleta River State Park, Florida’s largest urban park. Oleta River State Park is located on Biscayne Bay in the busy Miami metropolitan area. Although it offers a variety of recreational opportunities, the park is best known for miles of off-road bicycling trails, ranging from novice trails to challenging trails for experienced bicyclists.
Oleta River State Park
Situated along the scenic Oleta River and Biscayne Bay, Oleta River State Park offers visitors the perfect setting for doing everything from mountain biking and kayaking, to absolutely nothing at all!
The 1,033-acre park is one of the largest urban parks in South Florida and is located within minutes of the hustle and bustle of North Miami Beach. Because Miami is flat and coastal, most people are surprised to learn that the park is home to some of the best mountain bike trails in Florida, with 15 miles of trails for novice and experienced riders. Along twisting and turning trails, riders see a variety of birds and animals. Walkers and joggers enjoy three miles of paved trails that offer scenic views of the waterways through mangrove forests.
Dozens of picnic tables and grills are available on first-come-first-served basis. A playground is available for children. Visitors can swim in the lagoon or fish from the pier or along the shore. Dolphins and manatees are frequently seen by kayakers. The BG Oleta River Outdoor Center rents canoes, kayaks, standup paddleboards and bicycles.
Bike Trails
Oleta River State Park currently has over 10 miles of challenging, intermediate mountain bike trails. For the beginner, there are over 4 miles of novice trails and 3 miles of paved trail. The paved trail also offers great conditions for roller blading. Helmets are highly recommended for all cyclists and Florida law requires helmets for cyclists age 16 and under.
Canoeing and Kayaking
Canoeing and kayaking is available at the park. Visitors enjoy paddling on the calm waters of Biscayne Bay adjacent from the Haulover Inlet. Several routes to choose from consist of open water and mangrove trails and the Oleta River.
