I stayed in the Aerie apartments for a month to escape the cold. It ended up being cheaper than a hotel in Miami or Airbnb. All I needed was a room, so I was happy to find that option – very close to downtown Brickell. I also took an uber to Miami Beach several times and it cost about $15, which isn't bad at all. I visited Coconut Grove and Wynwood too and they were only 15-20 minutes away as well. The place is new and had some interesting technological features, such as keyless entry, which I liked. I just needed my phone to get into the building and the apartment. When I went for a run, I just put the app widget on my iwatch and used it, so there's no need for keys spinning. The building seemed safe, even if some of the other buildings and people in the area were rude. But growing up in LA, nothing too wild here. The apartment itself is well designed and modern. It's like living with roommates, but very easy to get into. I had my own bedroom and bathroom, so it's really not a problem - most of the time it felt like I had the whole place to myself. My apartment was on the first floor, so we didn't have a balcony, but the ones above did. The other two rooms were already rented, so I would meet them (a guy, a girl) occasionally after work some nights, but we all kind of kept up because of the pandemic. They were respectful and clean, which I greatly appreciated. And on the cleaning front, I liked that the building administration sent a cleaning crew every two weeks to clean the living room and kitchen area, so it was a nice touch that also helped a lot. Some nights, the roommates and I ended up having some group meals, which was cool, especially when you don't know anyone in town. Overall, getting an apartment like this for a month was a tremendous value for me. I'm only getting one star because I'd like to have a TV in my room too, but I just broadcast it on my laptop.
