Everglades National Park is Florida’s most famous nature park. It was created as a protection area for the Everglades, an important ecological system in the southwest of the state.
One way to get to know a little piece of this complex network of swamps and mangroves, is to pedal. The entrance to the park closest to Miami is Shark Valley.
The trail to the observation tower, in the ‘middle of nowhere’, is 24km long (11km on the way and 13km on the way back). A little leg, see?! Get ready!
The advantage is being fully immersed in the wilderness of Florida. As I was walking the path, I came across this scene below: a large bird took advantage of the serpent’s distraction and captured it.
