The new area invites visitors to enter the world of Illumination films like never before and enjoy unique dining experiences

Universal Orlando Resort has just shared new details on the food, mischief and fun guests will experience alongside the Minions at the highly anticipated Minion Land on Illumination Ave. – a new immersive land created in partnership with Universal’s award-winning creative team and the acclaimed filmmakers at Illumination. Opening in the coming months at Universal Studios Florida, the new land expands beyond the famous Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction and will add a new collection of experiences for guests of all ages, all inspired by the beloved Minions franchise .

As guests enter the area, they will be greeted by a “Minion Land” facade – fun and photo-perfect with 22 Minions – before embarking on the shenanigans that await them along Illumination Ave. Plus become a supervillain in Villain -Con Illumination’s Minion Blast, savor tasty dishes at Minion Cafe, meet favorite characters along the way, and even grab some banana-flavored popcorn at Pop-a-Nana, here are the details on the exciting new experiences that await guests. visitors in Minion Land:

ILLUMINATION’S VILLAIN-CON MINION BLAST

Guests can test their villain skills at Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast – an all-new attraction where guests compete against each other in a super-interactive gaming experience – so much fun is a crime. Afterwards, visitors exit through Evil Stuff, a new store where they can purchase Villain-Con and Minions merchandise. More details about Villain-Con Minion Blast will be revealed soon.

ILLUMINATION THEATER

Visitors can meet, greet and interact with beloved characters like the Minions, Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes, as well as new additions from the hit film “Sing” – Rosita, Gunter and Johnny – on an exterior facade of the Illumination Theatre.

In Minion Land, visitors can also find murals and photo space that celebrate other characters from Illumination’s famous films.Advertising

ILLUMINATION’S MINION CAFE

Minions in the kitchen, mischief in the dining room, and tons of tasty food at Illumination’s new Minion Cafe – the premier dining spot within Minion Land. This immersive new restaurant offers something for every palate in a highly entertaining dining experience that features three themed areas inspired by beloved characters Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto: the Kitchen – where guests will be able to see the equipment and machines that the Minions use use to prepare the venue’s menu; the Breakroom – a Minions rest room – which can be used by visitors for their meals –, which includes everything from “Office Safety Tips” to a vending machine full of tricks; and the Dining Room – a vibrant space decorated with colorful Minions artwork and more. Visitors can also enjoy their meal on an outdoor patio overlooking the fun of Minion Land.

Just as appealing as Minion Cafe’s themed ambience is its delicious menu – yet another example of how Universal Orlando’s award-winning culinary team continues to raise the bar when it comes to theme park dining. Guests of all ages can enjoy a creative menu with nearly 20 items inspired by memorable characters and products from the Minions franchise, including eclectic “despica-bowls” like Carl’s Crispy Cauliflower (vegan dish), Otto’s Noodle Bowl and Agnes’s Honeymoon Soup , delicious sandwiches like the Steak & “Cheese Ray” Sandwich , adorable desserts like Bob’s Teddy Bear Chocolate Cream Puff , a kids’ menu for the family’s “Mini Minions” that includes items like Mini Boss’ Mega Melt ; and much more.

The Minion Cafe will also feature an express ordering window, with a limited menu, for those who want to eat quickly and return to their shenanigans in Minion Land.

BAKE MY DAY

With a huge pink cupcake on the ceiling – which is visible from anywhere in the area – Bake My Day is a whimsical shop and bakery with a selection of Minions-themed sweets, including cupcakes, macarons, s’mores and more, along with with exclusive Minions products, such as clothing, plush, mugs, accessories, keychains and much more.

POP-A-NANA

Does anyone want some banana popcorn? This spot offers sweet and savory popcorn, inspired by the Minions’ love for bananas. Here, visitors can also find a variety of cute popcorn buckets, including the Minion Selfie Bucket.

FREEZE RAY POPS

Visitors can cool off with a visit to Freeze Ray Pops, which features a variety of colorful popsicles inspired by Gru, the Minions and Vector, as well as drinks.

Minion Land is yet another example of how Universal Destinations & Experiences is raising the bar on immersive storytelling for the whole family, using beloved franchises and stories seen in films. This news follows the exciting announcement made earlier this year when the company announced plans to build an original, one-of-a-kind theme park for families with young children in Frisco, Texas.
