Just in time for the spring season, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park reopens today with lots of new features after renovation

Just in time for the spring season, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park reopens today, March 19, 2023 (Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed for renovations). Guests can look forward to waves of all-tropical fun, including the return of the vibrant nighttime party, H2O Glow After Hours , at the paradise-themed water park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Guests can also look forward to the return of one of the water park’s signature attractions: The Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool . The largest outdoor wave pool in North America , the attraction uses cutting-edge technology to create controlled waves nearly 7 feet tall . Other popular attractions that offer everything from thrilling slides to water play spaces include:
- Miss Adventure Falls , the fast-paced family boat attraction created, as the story goes, when Captain Mary Oceaneer, a treasure hunter at sea, was caught in a typhoon, which scattered her treasure across this tropical paradise years ago.
- Crush ‘N’ Gusher, a thrilling “water roller coaster” that features three 400-foot-long tube slides named after the various fruits they have transported.
- Castaway Creek, a scenic lazy river that encircles the entire water park, offering gentle passage through shaded grottoes, gushing waterfalls, aerial rope bridges and lush rainforest landscapes.
- Humunga Kowabunga, offering a choice of three adrenaline-pumping body slides against the steep inclines of Mount Mayday.
H2O Glow After Hours
H2O Glow After Hours lights up from May 20th on select nights until September 2nd. Guest Favorite Glittering Party allows guests to enjoy their favorite attractions under the stars for three hours (8pm-11pm) after the water park closes to guests for the day, giving everyone easier access to their favorite thrills of the year.
