New York is a wonderful destination to travel with the family for several reasons: it has many children’s attractions, Broadway shows, educational museums, diverse cuisine, outdoor exploration and a lot of cultural diversity. That’s what Sabrina did, from our Facebook Community . Check out her report on the trip below.

Surprise trip

She was in New York with her children and nephew (9 and 11 years old), she said she did a lot of research before going, as she put together the entire itinerary herself, as it was the children’s first time there.

“It was a surprise trip, they only found out on the day of boarding and it was awesome!”

Trip Guide

Day 1

Visit to the Natural History Museum and Central Park. Lunch at the Storico restaurant, close to the museum.

Day 2

In the morning they went to a gospel service at the Brooklyn Tabernacle, because Sabrina always wanted to see their choir and had never been able to do it the previous times she was in the city and said it was beautiful, super exciting. They left there and went for a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge, followed by lunch at Eataly in the financial district. Afterwards, they took the cable car to Roosevelt Island, super cool to see the city from above and the park had cherry blossoms, really cool to walk around there.

Day 3

They started the day by visiting Grand Central Station and then went to Rise NY, a really cool attraction that simulates a flight through the city, similar to Epcot’s Soarin. Then, they explored the Times Square area, with all the lights and super attractive stores for children, stores like M&M, Pelé Soccer, Krispy Kreme, Hersheys and Disney.Advertising

Day 4

They walked around Rockefeller Plaza, the children went roller skating and visited the stores around FAO, where there is a giant floor piano for children to play with their feet, Lego and Nintendo. They had lunch there, at Ace’s Pizza, which she recommends. They also walked along 5th avenue. In the afternoon and evening they took a really cool tour with a Brazilian company that shows NY in a slightly different way than conventional. The tour was by car, with a soundtrack, stopped at a few places to eat some delicious food and went to New Jersey (seeing the NY skyline from there is incredible!). The tour is called Dreamy and is done by VPNY.

Day 5

The plan was to do Hudson Yards, The Edge, The Vesse, Highline Park, Chelsea Market and Little Island, but the children were very tired, so they changed the plans. They went to the Summit observatory, ate at Bryant Park and then went to Madame Tussaud.

6th

They took a guide to go to the Statue of Liberty, telling the children all the stories and meanings of this NY symbol. They had lunch at Shake Shack (top burger) and then the 9/11 memorial and Oculus station. This with the guide telling the story of everything. At night they went to see the Lion King show on Broadway.

Day 7

They went to the MET in the morning and Central Park in the afternoon, rode their bikes and ate at Tavern on Green, inside the park. They stopped doing several things they wanted to do because they needed more time, such as going to the Harry Potter exhibition, MAM, exploring Soho more, etc.

Sabrina says that New York is super kid friendly, and that there is a lot to do there! She was surprised because she had already been 3 times and had never thought it could be such a cool destination for them.
