Coral Gables is a city located in the US state of Florida, in Miami-Dade County. It is home to the 1920s Venetian Pool, carved from a quarry, with its grottoes, towers and bridge. Coral Gables Merrick House is the restored childhood home of town founder George Merrick. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden includes tree-lined lakes, a rainforest and a butterfly exhibit. It houses the Lowe Art Museum, whose collections include Cuban and Caribbean works.
The city is also known for hosting the University of Miami. Nicknamed “The City Beautiful,” Coral Gables is known for its tree-lined avenues, ivy-covered mansions and historic landmarks such as the world-famous Biltmore Hotel.
