Different architectural styles, large bay windows, front porches to promote interaction with the community and garages located at the back of the houses. These are just a few features of the new Horizon West master-planned community in central Florida.

Located in southwestern Orange County, just north of Walt Disney World, the new mixed-use community was designed to reflect a combination of traditionally rural concepts and New Urbanism principles.

Horizon West contributes to the New Urban by proposing a differentiated concept for the evolution of rural land that is no longer suitable for agricultural use, transforming it into self-sustaining and planned compact urban environments.

When completed, the community is expected to house approximately 70,000 residents in a mixed-use development that will provide a central area with restaurants, shops, cafes and a variety of other establishments and entertainment centers. The venture is already under construction and a good part of the project has already been completed, so that residents can now enjoy the infrastructure originally designed. The project as a whole is expected to take about 20 years to deliver.
