Ojus, Florida, USA is a town and city originally incorporated in Miami-Dade County, United States. The population was approximately 16,000 at the last census. It is bordered to the east by South Miami Beach, Aventura Bay to the south, I-395 to the west and North Miami Beach to the north. The Ojus Water Park is also part of the city. Ojus has a unique history.
In the early 1800s, the community of Ojus was established near Ocala. The community soon grew into the current city of Ojus. As time passed, the growth of Ojus as an area also grew. In the 1920s, a major hurricane hit Ojus and caused significant property damage. This enabled the incorporation of Ojus. Ojus’ growth did not stop there. Ojus gained a new sense of pride when the city was designated the Capital of the United States by the United States Congress.
