I just returned from a friend’s wedding at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa. While the location of this resort was flawless, sadly it wasn’t what was expected due to the other ratings and reputation. The room I stayed in needed attention as there were visible cracks in the ceiling. Maintenance was performed on our roof sometime Sunday morning which was not a pleasant way to start the day. Sadly, the Front Desk staff which we interacted with were not attentive, not pleasant and they shared incorrect information which caused me a great deal of embarrassment. Additionally, they were rude to the groom on Sunday morning and after paying what they did for the wedding, I would expect nothing but an elevated level of customer service and appreciation. However, stellar service was received from Chris - Bell Captain/Valet manager. He was courteous and attentive. A fantastic way to be welcomed to the resort! Food and Beverage employees that were outstanding were John, the Food and Beverage Manager, Carlos, Mario, Marty, Memet and Emily. All were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. Parrish was accommodating and went above and beyond. We asked where the closest ice machine was and Parrish delivered ice directly to our room. How kind and thoughtful! While there were many aspects of the resort which were fantastic, we expected more and truly do not believe the amount paid was worth it. However, if we were to return again, we would stay in the new building as the ocean views were to die for!
