We loved our dinner celebrating my wife's birthday last week. We were warmly welcomed on a cold, rainy night, and despite the weather, we were able to comfortably dine outdoors, tucked away on the beautiful rooftop patio. Our waiter, Enrico, from Messina, Sicily, was exceptional throughout our entire experience. First, we ordered cocktails (Little Italy) which were accompanied by the big bread basket of, Focaccia, Grissini and more, which we couldn't help but have with our drinks. We started with the Clams Veneziana, a big bowl of plain vongole in a light seafood broth, perfect for dipping. See that Enrico brought out another basket of bread! Then my wife had the Tagliardi with fresh shaved black truffle from Nocia and I had the Veal Parmigiana. We shared both and they were excellent. The wine list isn't cheap, nor are most menu items, but I found the quality, service, and ambiance more than made up for it. I managed to find a lovely bottle of Barbaresco de Piedmonte that was priced at $65.00, which was pretty much the low end of the range, although the wines by the glass were a little high starting at $15.00 for the cheapest option. Sharing a delicious key lime pie completed our evening. Contrary to what other reviews have stated, the 18% service charge that is automatically added, typical for a hotel restaurant, was clearly stated and marked on the final bill. It was a pleasure to add this to the excellent service provided by Enrico and the entire team.
