Chase Animal Rescue And Sanctuary - Webster

Service Overview

At Chase we bring the community and the primate/exotic preservation mission together in a way that enhances lives. Our volunteers are passionate, involved advocates of all ages and from all walks of life. This includes students seeking bright futures scholarships, interns, the elderly community in the nearby villages and those in need of permanent sanctuary for their exotic pets.

As part of our mission we work to rehabilitate pet primates who have become aggressive, as nearly all pet primates do. We are against the ownership of pet primates.

What an amazing time! We went on a private tour with our tour guide Annie. She was awesome! She is super informative and answered all of our, at times extensive, suggestions. The experience was beyond words. We were able to see so many animals up close and were able to physically interact with many of them. Annie knew all of the lemurs by name and was able to tell us about their personalities. The sloths were adorable. We didn't get to touch them (they don't love being pet anyway) but they made their way over to us and we saw them very up close! We had interactions with the cockatoo welcoming committee, lemurs, deer, and tortoises. I loved Einstein, the cotton top with the wild crazy hair! Thanks to Annie we avoided getting peed on by the marmosets! I'll never forget the feeling of having lemurs jump on me and lick my hand (did you know they have 2 tongues!). I was happy to find out that the soft tongue the lemur used meant he thought I tasted good.... the rough tongue would have meant he thought I needed a cleaning! The staff all around was super friendly and informative. It was wonderful knowing these animals went from small cages in private homes/ apartments into areas where they can move about freely inside and out in enriched environments. The only bummer is that Tracy, the sanctuary's 40 year old lemur.....40 YEARS OLD!... was sleeping and we could only see part of her. C'mon, she's 40...she can sleep if she wants to sleep!

I absolutely adored the lemur yoga class at Chase Animal Rescue Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is clean and well-kept and you can tell that the animals are happy and cared for. The Sanctuary does such a great job of rescuing and nurturing the animals and the entire experience was so special. It was worth the drive from Miami and I cannot wait to go back for an interactive tour and more lemur yoga, where you also get to socialize with deer, Patagoian Cavy's, African Tortoises and more. I highly recommend supporting this amazing organization with a visit. You will not regret it!

I didn't actually go but my wife and her best friend did. They had a good time and want to go back with the family. They said the lemurs are so awesome. Probably will take the kids to volunteer at some point too.

The property is beautiful and out "in the country" which is awesome! We were greeting by a very kind lady who gave us the rundown on what we needed to do. We were there for the Saturday yoga with the lemurs. We were able to do a little exploring before yoga started - met Scooter (no thouchy, he's bitey but adorable). We headed into the lemur barn, we watched and introductory video, rolled out our kats, and out came the lemurs! We were each given a good handful of food and the lemurs just went hand to hand. We were able to touch the lemurs, pet them, hold thir crazy little hands, feed them, and just then crawl all over us. IT WAS AAAMMMMAAAZZZZIIINNNGGG! I am so proud to support this organization! They are doing absolutely amazing work and it definitely seems like the animals are very happy and very healthy! We will definitely be going back!
