Had lunch at Dinner India as Thakku wanted chapati. He ate the Butter Naan pretty well. I drank the Indian coffee (instant coffee), it was good but quite a struggle to get regular sugar. Had to make the waitress get it from the kitchen (only Splenda was kept in all tables). The chilli pakora was very good. Butter naan was amazing. Shahi paneer was good as well. Did not like the extreme garlic taste of the peas pulao. Gulab jamun was not good. Tasted of coconut and cinnamon or something. Could not take a second bite.
We have enjoyed the Bandhari family's cooking for years, and a visit a few days ago showed that they continue to excel. I like my food about medium on a spicy scale, while Linda hits the hot spots. We're always pleased with the savory blends of flavors, cooked to our comfort level. Not a fancy venue, but you just can't beat the food and friendly service. Say "Namaste," and get a particularly warm Nepalese welcome. Prices are average for Indian food in this area; and each dish will serve two easily.
This establishment serves great Indian food. From the outside I was skeptical, but I decided to give it a try. The food really is tasty and fresh. It's definitely a hole in the wall experience. This restaurant does not rush you, they take their time, that means that they are cooking it fresh rather than reheating. The server is very friendly and customer service driven. I ordered the shrimp malai and had never eaten that dish made with fresh coconut, always coconut milk from a can. I enjoyed my dinner there!
