Thankful EconoLodge Perry was here when we needed it!
This motel is a classic two star, clean sheets, plenty of hot water and coffee, amenities are very basic and the front desk is friendly.
We were stranded on I-75 after Priceline mistakenly booked us hundreds of miles from last night's intended stay in Valdosta.
Hunting for a room in North Florida on a busy Saturday was impossible, hotels around Ocala had jacked room rates as high as $700 for two star properties with horrid reviews.
A bit out of our way was EconoLodge of Perry. They had a room, the rate was normal and check-in was simple.
This motel's performance was so thankfully appreciated. AC worked great, ample hot water, good TV / internet, all surrounded in the very basic amenities of a property which dutifully met our needs.
Our vehicle was safe, coffee pot in the room, trouble free.
Props to the housekeeper, Cheryl, a terrific lady who is happy to converse with guests and is super nice.
Yep, it's basic.
The ridiculous reviews for this property are undeserved and rude. They know the property needs work, but when you need a room "now", EconoLodge of Perry does exactly what it's supposed to do - a serviceable, clean room so you can safely rest and be on your way.

This is one of many old style strip motels in old Florida. We found it dated but just fine, Inexpensive, clean, hot water with great water pressure, Clean as can be when you are working with old motels. The bed was comfy and it was quiet. The owner seems very nice, and there is always coffee on and a donut for breakfast. You can't do better for the price. The only complaint I have is that the floors needed to be cleaned, my feet and socks were black after a few hours. I never saw any bugs as others complained about, and just so you know a palmetto bug and a roach are the same thing. I get a chuckle out of that. It's a bug common in Fl. yes you might see one. If you aren't a fancy pants this place is just fine. Would stay again.

Overnight in Perry Florida on our way to southern Florida. The higher end hotels in the area (Hampton and Holiday Inn) were booked. This was the only one left in our opinion. The others in the area looked pretty dumpy with full timers living there. For an economical hotel this was fine for overnight. The main thing is that it was CLEAN. The breakfast and furnishings could, of course, be upgraded but then the price would be upgraded also. Econolodge is not what we expect to be top of the line but fine for what we needed.

The room was beautiful, completely remodeled. You can tell that the building was outdated and run down, this also reflects in some of the prior reviews, however it appears that new management is doing an overhaul of the entire Lodge. There is a lot of construction going on and many of the rooms are in the process of construction, but the room that I stayed was very beautiful and I slept very comfortably. The only issue that I had was that the shower did not drain, likely attributed to the construction going on in the other rooms and possible debris in the drain lines from that. Other than that I was very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my night's sleep. The front desk person was also very helpful and had accommodated my room even though I had booked a day in advance mistakenly. Wishing the new ownership the best moving forward and great job in the room, it was very nice.

I was driving to Tampa and decided to find a place to crash for the night. I wanted somewhere reasonable so I stopped at the Econo Lodge expecting an average room. This property is under renovations and new management. ⁸ Boy was I blown away by the warm reception of the lovely couple and the beautiful orchids in the office. The pics of the rooms speak for themselves. It is spanking new, modern and clean! I had such a restful night I wished I didn't have to go. You can see such a difference with this place and the hard effort that is being put into it. Pls disregard the previous bad reviews as so many positive changes are happening and the couple at the front desk are going above and beyond to make sure you're well taken care of.
