Joe's Stone Crab

Service Overview

In 1913, Joe Weiss opened up a small lunch counter on Miami Beach. This was before Miami Beach was even a city. Folks stopped in to chat and for a top-notch fish sandwich and fries. This, of course, was only the beginning, and what happened next is a story worth telling.

Initially a little overwhelming , seeing a ridiculous number of staff all dressed up in tux , I felt it could be a little old school , white tables cloths and hovering staff . Old school it was , in all the right ways!! A nod to the art deco era when this place was at the height of sophistication for the rich and famous of the time . The sophistication remains but now it’s available to everyone . The service is impeccable and friendly . The place is huge , with interior spaces and beautiful garden spaces . It really caters for everyone and every occasion the place was heaving with families , dolled up locals , dates and tourists a like . The menu has all the classics you’d expect with the highest quality produce as well home style classics . A must visit in Miami . There is also a deli where you can get the classics to go

JennySJohannesburgVery good chicken!!
Real traditional American family restaurant, but I can’t say I rate the crab all that much. Not much in the flavour department. But it was a real experience and we enjoyed our visit. Our waiter was very attentive. Don’t go for a value for money experience, but do go!

What a treat it was to enjoy a wonderful dinner in every way at Joe’s. Our phenomenal waiter, Mitchell, was the best…so attentive and fun to get to know during our dinner. The venue is immaculate and comfortable. This is a pricey meal but worth it to celebrate any occasion or just to enjoy once in a while. Their valet parking is overpriced at $25. Park across the way yourself. The venue is now open all year round snd the stone crabs are flash frozen. They are cracked for you and very fresh and easy to eat. Have their custom mustard sauce with it. Have the hush puppies Lyonnaise style with onions. Enjoy their key lime pie. This is a family owned business for many many years. They know how to treat their patrons.

paul7229How can you not like Joe’s?!?
We make sure we head to Joe’s every time we are in Miami and it has never let us down! The only downside previously was the wait and now they finally take reservations! We loved the appetizers-bread basket-salads-soups-fried shrimp-salmon. We tried four different deserts and while all were good we highly recommend they key lime pie! Service is always outstanding and it was again during our visit. Love the ambiance, professionalism and that the Fried Chicken dinner is only $8.95. Be sure to check out the cool story behind that deal
