It was our 20th anniversary and we wanted to find the perfect place to get away for a couple of days. We wanted to celebrate the love in our hearts, to be thankful for the joy in our lives, to respect the lessons we had learned in our past, and to be inspired with the hopes for our future. We were aiming high, but fortunately for us, this happened to be one of those rare times where everything worked perfectly! I am happy to say that we found everything we were hoping for plus a whole lot more at The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District! You should definitely check this place out! It is just unbelievable! We celebrated, we were thankful, we learned, and we were inspired by this absolutely amazing and beautiful hotel/power plant/natural science and art museum that clearly represents a crowning accomplishment for the great and visionary architect, Richard Kessler. The hotel is a one-of-a-kind work of art itself and it is superbly staffed with truly first-class management and service personnel provided by JW Marriott. Their warm and friendly Southern Hospitality was genuinely appreciated and comforting to us from the time of our arrival as we gawked at the giant dinosaur in the atrium to last kind words of the valet giving us directions upon our departure. During our visit, we had discovered two spectacular rooftop lounges with unbelievable views plus a variety of exquisite restaurants within the hotel. In addition, countless other excellent restaurants, pubs, shops, and lounges were all easily within cobblestone street walking distance, so we never needed our car at all! Dining beside the water on River Street in Savannah while watching those big ships go by is mighty hard to beat, but even more romantic was that same river view when we toasted each other and looked out over the sparkling lights from the window of our hotel room!
