Hotel is under renovation, and there are signs of this everywhere. My room faced north and had an ocean view, but the window was covered in grime from construction outside. Ceiling leaked about 1/3 gal/day and there was constant loud noise; however, it was relatively clean and no bugs or smell. We went to the beach; I saw a stack of lounge chairs, so I started to grab a couple. Employee stopped me, said he had to get them, then directed me to the many unoccupied chairs on the beach. My wife, toddler grandson, and I enjoyed ourselves for a half hour before another employee asked me if I just had one hotel room, then said we are only allowed two chairs per room, and took one chair... Despite dozens of unused chairs around us. Employee came around with a drink menu; we selected one for $16 and handed him my card; he returned and the charge was $21; I wasn't told about any extra fees. Standard vending machine sized bag of Cheetos was $4.75 in coffee/snack shop. Also, a party was booked in the hotel, kicking guests out of the pool from 3-6, and since the stairway from level 1-3 goes through an open party room, the stairs were unavailable (fire hazard??). Then the elevators... one of the three was not working, and I think five isn't even enough to accommodate the guest traffic at peak times. Overall, the location is phenomenal, the price was pretty good, and it was a relatively clean place to lay your head at night. But next time, I'd go somewhere else for $15 more.
