This museum is located in the Art Deco District and is closed on Wednesdays. Right in front there is a bus stop and trolley. There is a large collection of pieces from the Industrial Revolution to World War II. The ticket costs $12, but it's worth it.
Collection based on the collection of Mitchel Wolfson Jr., focused on objects related to industrial design, travel, telecommunications, art-nouveau and political propaganda. It shows the contrast between pieces that record the evolution of American consumerism versus the exaltation of socialist man.
It really is a surprise in Sobe find a space destined for art without other intentions besides pleasure by the beautiful. The space is well designed, the collection is interesting and the temporary exhibition of Julios Klinger is quite comprehensive. Unmissable!
This is a relatively small museum, but they always have good exhibitions. It is always a good mix of art and political meanings, really interesting. Probably not the mainstream museum, but for art lovers worth a visit, I will always go there when in Miami. One of the few things in Miami that is still on a good level (while many things are getting down…).
Very unique small museum in art deco building (in art deco section of Miami). My husband and I really enjoyed this small museum and especially two of the current exhibits Plotting Power: Maps & the Modern Age and Turn the Beat Around. Beautiful displayed and curated exhibits with excellent descriptions. We spent about two hours while it was pouring rain outside and had a really nice time at this museum. The coffee in the coffee shop was very good and they have a really nice gift shop too. Purchased a gift for a friend and some Jewlery for myself.
